Rock Dominos (Rockinos)

Rockinos

Dominos are a family favorite in my home...let's be honest here. I'm always losing one or two here and there. But not anymore!!

Ever since I discovered Rock Dominos I've brought them with me to BBQ,s, Beach Parties, Camping trips and the best thing about them is... If you lose one you can replace it no problem!!
Just go Your local craft store or river stream to look for smooth black stones.
Everyone I've played rockinos (rock dominos) with always insists that I make them a set. Be the envy of all your friends with your own Rockinos Set.
If you don't want to make your own set please visit
to purchase from my Esty shop.

First things first, we will need 28 smooth black stones/rocks.

Draw lines down the center of all 28 stones. Use the diagram below for refrence when placing the numbers on each piece as this is important.

Let The Rockinos dry 24 hours

Spray with waterproof glaze so the paint doesn't chip. I used Decoupage Gloss Sealer - water proof and works great!
A great way tote your Rockinos is a drawstring satchel ...
Which I will be showing here shortly so stay tuned!!

Making Magnets!!

How To:
Make your own Magnets

We all use magnets, don't we?
Keep your fridge looking hip, uncluttered and stylish with your own magnets - made from fabric of your choice.

First we will look at the supplies you will need to complete your own magnets.

  1. Sharp, Fabric scissors
  2. Tacky Glue
  3. Magnets
  4. Craft Cover Button Kit
  5. Fabric (scraps work very well.

-When choosing you fabric, keep in mind the pattern that will show. The Craft Cover Button Kit comes with a template you will use for measuring the circle.

This is an example of being mindful when choosing your fabric...

Inside the Inner circle is what will be showing on your magnet.

The Craft Button Kit comes with 10 buttons, 10 plain backs, 10 Shank backs, circle templateand tools. The shank backs are generally used for buttons, flat backs are what we will use.

Sort your button kit out.. We will only use the plain backs (flat circles).. If your kit only came with shank backs, just pull the loop out with pliers .

from left to right, Shank Bank, Button, Plain Back

Our fabric will need to be cut, but first we will measure it with our circle template...

(Fabric)

(Fabric with Circle template)

Fabric with circle template circled with green fabric marker)

I will be making 5 magnet so I made 5 circles with the circle template and cut them out. Use a marker to outline your circle, and remember to circle the OUTSIDE of the circle template, as the inside circle reveals what will show on the button.
(Before ironing)
Next, we will iron our fabric.. Any creases will make the finished product look wrinkled...

(After ironing)

What do you do with your fabric scraps? I place mine in my handy dandy scraps jar! Don't have a scraps jar? Make one!! :) ( I'll be posting How to make your own scraps jar soon)

(Scraps jar)

Now we will begin the process of placing the fabric onto the button. This is where you tool kit comes into play.

(White tool)

(Blue tool)

Place you circle fabric piece on top of the white tool. Place a button onto the fabric circle. Be sure that the fabric has even edges all around the button. Push button down into the white tool, your button should look something like this.

With your tacky glue, lay a dap of glue in the cent of the button back.

Now the flat back will go on, tuck the edges of fabric in and lay down flat back.

The blue tool will be used to secure the button on place. Place the blue tool online the flat back, holding down firmly. Once you hear popping sound know that the back is securely in place, remove blue tool.

Pop out the button.

Place the button face down and apply another dap of tacky glue.

Place magnet on button back, press firmly and center magnet.

Follow same steps for the rest of your magnets. Let dry 24 hous before using! Enjoy!!

These magnets are for sale for $6.50 USD

Awesome Corner Bookmark Tutorial!!

How to: Corner Bookmark

How to create a simple corner bookmark...

Today I will be showing everyone how to create a simple Corner Bookmark...This is a very easy very simple do it yourself!! :)

What you will need:
ruler
pencil
glue stack
scissors
sheet of paper, card stock weight
other embellishments such as markers, stamps, stickers, ink stamps, flower embellishments etc.

TIP...
When selecting the card stock you will use for this project , keep in mind that one sided card stock is ideal woken measuring ( on the black side) as I have illustrated here.
1. First we will need piece of decor♦ative card stock.. I've chosen from my Hippie Chic mats tack which is glittery!! Yay!!
On this cardstock we will draw a perfect square. For illustration purposes my squares will measure 2 inches. When measuring the sides take note to use your ruler as you want all of the sides perfectly straight.
2. Draw a second Square exactly the same size on the right side of the first square and a third Square exactly the same size on the top of the first square. You will have three squares that compose an L shape when you are finished.

3. Using your ruler draw a diagonal line across the upper most square from its top right corner to its bottom left corner.

4. Cut off lower and upper corners off the Square you won't be using that part.
5. Now flip over the card stock and fold down the corners, overlapping each other.

6. Now glue down one flap onto the one under it

7. This is what the front and back should look like...
8. Glue on any Embellishments... For this I used a Hippy ...Chic Paper Flower and Sweet Escape Emblem on the front.

Feel free to email me any questions, @
